Dance, dance, dance...
We are always dancing now! And we are trying new forms of dance, as well. We did "shadow dancing". It was a huge success!
Since we've started the unit, we've been also learning a ballet dance. We had a proper introduction with Lou (Myriam's daughter). Challenging, but the children are extremely engaged. I am so proud of them...

A Great start!!!

We have finally started the Dance unit of inquiry. And it has been a lot of fun! We've created our own Dance studio, with a proper bar, clothes and music. The children have been very busy using this center. They just love it...
We've also initiated one of the dances we will have on the dance show, end of next month: Fire Dance (Bolero). It will look nice and powerful! You'll see...

Autumn Break

Happy holidays, everybody!
I already miss my "angels pangels". Anyway, we see each other again in 2 weeks. Have fun!

Our next unit of inquiry is:

It has to do with movement and music. We will again request your participation. We will start it, on October 20th. I am so full of ideas... I can't wait to start!

On the last day of the Unit on "Helping hands" - Community helpers...

After six weeks, we came to an end. Sad, really! What a great unit! So much learning took place. A lot of role play, maths and social studies. The children had fun and we (both me and Myriam) also. Thanks to everybody that has helped us.

Can you try to guess our next unit of inquiry?

"I came to school, dressed as..." - part 3

We have a police officer, a doctor and 2 great teachers. If you need, we have...!

"I came to school, dressed as..." - part 2

"I came to school, dressed as..." - my favorite community helper

After studying them all, the children came to school as their favorite community helper. From police officers, firefighters, bankers, doctors and teachers. Funny! I loved it.
It took parent's collaboration. Thank you, mum and dad! It's always nice to see the family participating and involved.

Parent's occupation show and tell - part 2

Some jobs are very obvious, aren't they not? Both kids and me loved it.
They are also acquiring skills to help them express their ideas.

Parent's occupation show and tell

Our children brought things that shows what their parents do, at work. They had to show and say something about it. Again, very interesting!

We do puppet shows...

The children were very engaged doing community helpers puppet shows. Very interesting!

Community helpers game

We played the community helpers musical chairs game: children dance around the chairs and wait for the music to stop. Then they had to say something about the profession leaving the game. "Doctors" have won!

We are also "chefs"...

On "Fantastic Friday", we cooked our snack. We made scones. Yummy! Very good...

A Chef at school...

I love to have parents over to participate in their children inquiries! This time we had a "Chef Rick"(Mikkel's dad). It was very funny and the children had lots of fun. They've learned to prepare their own food. Like proper chefs... At the end, they all got a little treat. Well, they've deserved it!!!
