Very good for reading...

Book Buddies

Book Buddies: we have invited the MYP students. It's always nice to see how caring they can be to our children. We love it!

After school activity

After school activity: Football. It takes place, on thursdays. Our "kigas" love it!

After reading, the children write reviews about their book. They also work on their journals. Here, they were writing based on the unit of inquiry.
Maths, follows. They had to sequence and order numbers from 1-20.
In the afternoon, there is center's choice. The different learning centers are open: read the room center and listening are just 2 of them.

A little bit of our second week of school...
In the morning, the children read. We do 1-1 and group reading.
In the afternoon, we focus on the unit (PYP). The children did also a human graph (maths) that shows their community helpers' choices.

More of Community helpers and not only...

Hello everybody!

Our second week of school has run smoothly! We are getting slowly into our program. We have started Individual, Group and shared readng. We have also initiated our first unit of inquiry on Helping Hands (community helpers). We've been working on the concept of school community. The children seem to be very engaged in this topic. We are going to get deaper into the different community helpers, next week.

It has been already a challenging and fun week. I am sure, more it's still to come!

First Unit of Inquiry

Starting Monday- Unit of Inquiry: Helping hands (Community Helpers)

Children investigating...

The children are "reading the room":
They had to find and write words in the classroom that have 3 and 5 letters.

Firts week in Kindergarten

Hello, everybody! So we have started... We had our first week and it was a lot of fun! It was nice to see all my children back again. I missed them so much...I though to share with you some pictures of the children, during this week. It has been a free, soft week... We will start the real "business" on Monday. Our first unit is: Helping Hands (Community Helpers).
We will need your "helping hands", though, for this unit of Inquiry. I'm sure we'll have a great school year! I'll be posting news and pictures every Friday.

Love,

Nilde
