I would like to wish you all wonderful and relaxing holidays. New pictures and information of our class, will come just after the break. See you all in a few weeks! With love,
Great way to finish this unit: a field trip to the Zurich Opernhaus. It was fantastic! We were so privileged to be on the stage and have it rotated. Very interesting!
A great day for all of us: our dance performance. We named it "Gotta Dance". Everybody had so much fun. It was a lot of work, but my kids are just the best!! They have put so much effort... they made me really proud. Congratulations to all that helped! This Dance unit was wonderful! 100% worthwhile!
On the 20th of November, we celebrated the International Children Rights day. We launched helium balloons in the air. It was really nice and emotional. Our children were feeling just like kings and queens, they actually really are.
We are preparing for our dance performance. Making our posters to inform the whole school about the event. Also, the kids act out the story of the "Noisy Monkey". They loved it!
More of the Diwali decoration and also our beautiful Myriam... For those of you, that couldn't make it... sorry... you really missed a great celebration!
On November 14th, we celebrated Diwali, the Indian festival of lights. We started by having Shalli (Aadi's mum) coming to the class to explain the real meaning of this celebration. We've made our own Dias (lights) and just enjoyed the party! It was really beautiful!
This week, we danced hip-hop with Barbara Johnson, an experienced hip-hop teacher and learned more about Spanish dance: "sevillanas", with Oriente, "my amorsito", from grade 1. Most of our kids had already hip-hop last year, so it went quite good. We will incorporate it in our Dance Performance on the 28th of November.
We also have been introduced to Indian dance. Foram (Keya's mum) danced for us; we also watched bits of indian musicals and she has drawn "henna" on our hands. Lovely! Parent participation: always welcome and highly appreciated!
