Book Buddies (with a senses touch)

Why not inviting are our grade 2.1. book buddies to help us in our inquiries? Well, hands painting and feeling games. It was fun and very interesting! I guess they loved it too.

Senses: what do we feel?

The children felt different textures. Smooth, hard, soft, slimy, hard, cold, hot...

Our tasting tonges: finished art project

The tasting tongues are finished. The children glued coffee beans (bitter), lemon (sour), salt (salty) and brown sugar (sweet). They looked nice! Hands on learning!

Senses unit and other subjects

A P.E. lesson during our senses unit. What if we could not see?

Children having fun at the playground!

Children having fun at the playground and also practicing being Risk-takers!

Senses: follow up activities

Making our tasting tongues and Kindergarten 1's assembly. Nice memories of this great unit of inquiry. The children have shown to be thinkers and very knowledgeable.

Senses: what do we taste?

Did you know that we have four different tastes in our tongue: bitter, sour, salty and sweet. The children tasted and found out that!

Senses: What do we smell?

Smelling different things and sorting them into bad/good/natural and man-made smells. After, we created a graph of our favourite smells.

Senses: What do we hear?

Book Buddies

We have started Book buddies with the grade 2 class. It was so nice to see them together!

Halloween at School: the children dressed up and we had a parade. Can you guess, who the mummy is? Funny! I had to include the photo of our class vampire. Isn't he scary?

Language and Math

Language and Math games. Children are very engaged in their learning...

Senses: Sight

Writing our names without our sense of sight: we've found out that it was very tricky!

Senses: Sight

Continuing our exploration of the world around us.

And then,
"what if we can not see?"
Inquiring about the sense of seeing.

How many Senses do we have?

Exploring the Duck pond: how do we use our senses? (Unit pre-assessment)
