Role Play area: the children at the class Italian Restaurant

Role Playing... A very important part of our curriculum. Children pretend to be waiters/waitresses and act out this community helper. Always lovely to see...

Communuty Helper: Baker

Again, Zuriwerk, in Wallisellen, our town, received us so well. They also explained us what they do in our community and what are their roles and responsibilities. At the end, we tasted their yummy cakes and enjoyed a lot too!

Our first Assembly

The kids sang a community helpers song and we perform short plays about two of the Learner profile attributes we are learning about in class: Caring and Principled. We received lots of cheers from parents and other students. Thank you all for coming!

Community Helper: Firefighters!!!

We're ready to go back to school... :-) Tired, but very happy and excited!

Community Helper: Firefighters...

Group picture: a day that we won't forget!

Community Helper: Firefighters...

We could even use the hose to spray water... And I just had to try everything too!

Community Helper: Firefighters...

Our learning experience continued...

Community Helper: Firefighters

The Fire Station trip was great! We had so much fun and learned a lot! The firefighters Giorgiano and Marcel were really nice. They took time to explain every single thing about their job. Now, all our boys want to become firefighters one day! I don't blame them. It was an awesome experience!

Community Helper: Doctor...

At the Teddy Bear Hospital still...

Community Helper: Doctor

This week we had a visitor of a doctor. She came to tell us what do the doctors do to help us. After that, the children brought their teddys to class and we all played in the Teddy Bear Hospital. So much fun! Learning by doing...

Community Helper: Police

At the end, a reflection moment: what did we do? How did we do it? What did we learn?
Always nice to have guest speakers in the classroom. Their experiences enriches us all!

Coomunity Helper: Police

The Traffic Police Officer came to school. Interesting and sometimes a bit scary to see the children crossing the road on their own. It is all part of the growing process... And of our inquiry too!!

Children and their routines

Children at Library. Friday morning...
The Listening centre is one of the favourite ones.
I also have to register Kiga 1's first assembly. They did a very good job!
